Unattended Password Reset (UPR) Process



Introduction

This process will change the password of your University Computing ID (UCID) and the password of any other computer accounts associated with your UCID. This includes some or all of the following:

General access:

Student access:

Faculty/Staff access:

Alumni access:

In the next steps you will be asked to identify yourself, then answer your password reset questions/answers. You will then need to create a new password.

This process assumes you have previously set up your password reset questions/answers. If you have not set up your password reset questions/answers, you will need to call the NJIT Computing HelpDesk. and speak to a Customer Service representative. If unsure about this, please proceed and the process will check for you.

Step 1 of 6: Identification

Please enter personal information as indicated below in order to confirm your identity. Your responses will be compared to NJIT's databases.

UCID Your University Computing ID (UCID), for example

    abc23

ID Your 8 digit NJITID excluding dashes, for example:

    12345678

Optionally, you may use your 9 digit SSN excluding dashes, for example:

    123456789

Foreign students can use their SSN-subsitute-id --> SSN-subsitute-id if one was assigned by the admissions department.

Date of Birth
   
Month/Day/Year
Your date of birth in mmm/dd/yyyy format, for example:

    Jun / 29 / 1971

You must provide a full four-digit year.

Zip/Postal Code Your zip code or postal code, for example

    07102

You can use your permanent or local (non-USA) postal code as provided to NJIT for admission, registration, grades, or paycheck. If you have a non-USA address and it does not include any kind of postal code, please just enter "none" here.
